HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK
Issue Date: 1018 AM EDT THU SEP 9 2010
Expiration: 600 PM EDT THU SEP 09 2010

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

...THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
THE EAST COAST SEA BREEZE WILL MOVE INLAND SLOWLY TODAY DUE TO
LIGHT SOUTHERLY WINDS ACROSS THE CENTRAL PENINSULA. SCATTERED
SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL FORM ALONG THE BOUNDARY
AROUND MIDDAY ALONG AND WEST OF INTERSTATE 95 AS THE BOUNDARY
MOVES INLAND. STORM COVERAGE WILL INCREASE AS THE SEA BREEZE
PUSHES INTO THE INTERIOR. COVERAGE WILL BE HIGHEST NORTH OF A LINE
FROM LAKE KISSIMMEE AND CAPE CANAVERAL DURING THE MID TO LATE
AFTERNOON. A FEW STORMS MAY GENERATE FREQUENT LIGHTNING STRIKES
AND BRIEF GUSTY WINDS.

...FLOOD IMPACT...
SCATTERED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS THAT FORM TODAY WILL
DRIFT WEST AT LESS THAN 10 MPH. DUE TO THEIR SLOW MOVEMENT...THE
STRONGER STORMS WILL PRODUCE BETWEEN 2 AND 3 INCHES OF RAIN IN
LOCAL SPOTS...PARTICULARLY OVER THE INTERIOR COUNTIES. LOW LYING
AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS THAT HAVE RECEIVED HEAVY RAIN IN RECENT
DAYS WILL BE PRONE TO FLOOD.

...RIP CURRENT IMPACT...
THOUGH OCEAN SWELLS ARE LOW...BEACH PATROLS HAVE INDICATED THAT
CUTS IN THE NEAR SHORE SAND BARS PERSIST DUE TO THE SWELL EVENT
FROM LAST WEEK. A HIGH ASTRONOMICAL TIDE ALSO WILL CONTRIBUTE TO
KEEP THE RIP CURRENT RISK ELEVATED ALONG AREA BEACHES. THE RISK
WILL BE HIGHEST BETWEEN NOON AND 6:30 PM THIS EVENING DUE TO
TIDAL EFFECTS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
LIGHT WINDS WILL PERSIST THROUGH THE WEEKEND...RESULTING IN SLOW
STORM MOTION AND LOCAL HEAVY RAINFALL. A WEAK WESTERLY WIND ALOFT
WILL PUSH AFTERNOON SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TOWARD THE EAST
FLORIDA COAST ON FRIDAY. STORM COVERAGE WILL SHIFT BACK TO THE
INTERIOR OVER THE WEEKEND AS THE RIDGE AXIS SHIFTS BACK OVER THE
CENTRAL PENINSULA.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
SPOTTERS ARE REQUESTED TO MONITOR THE WEATHER AND SELF ACTIVATE
IF NEEDED.
